Pedals for Education: Breaking the Poverty Cycle in Cambodia at Feeding Dreams Cambodia
For many students in Cambodia, accessing education is a significant challenge due to long distances and lack of public or private transportation.
Feeding Dreams Cambodia’s Pedals for Education program aims to bridge this gap by providing quality bicycles to students in need, helping them stay in school and succeed.
The Challenge
Students often face gruelling journeys to school, walking for 1 or more hours in incredible heat or huge downpours. This can lead to fatigue, decreased motivation, and ultimately, a disinterest in attending school.
Our Solution
Our Pedals for Education program allows us to help the students who require transportation assistance. For new students, we can assess the need for this assistance when we conduct home visits prior to them joining Feeding Dreams Cambodia. Selected students will be provided with a quality second-hand bicycle to facilitate their daily commute to school.

How it Works
- Student Applications: Students apply for a bicycle and, if required, our Community Support team will conduct a home visit to assess the family’s financial situation.
- Bicycle Distribution: Selected students receive a quality second-hand bicycle free of charge.
